    Since far back in history, people, goods and ideas have been transported to and from Halland. On view in the exhibition Over the Seas are older and contemporary artists’ interpretations that bring those journeys, those ships and the sea to life for us. It also includes objects whose histories extend far beyond Halland’s boundaries.

  • Coast, Sea & Water: The Halmstad Group and Friends

    Sweden’s west coast, with its distinctive light and landscape, has made an impression on the work of many painters. In the exhibition Coast, Sea & Water: The Halmstad Group and Friends, we encounter the coastal landscape as interpreted by a number of artists from the 1910s to the 1950s.

  • Kolbrún Inga Söring: Rethinking the Little Mermaid

    Rethinking the Little Mermaid is Kolbrún Inga Söring’s first solo exhibition in Sweden. Söring’s art explores body modification, desire and self-representation outside of cis-heteronormativity. Through their reinterpretation of H. C. Andersen’s fairy tale The Little Mermaid, the artist takes a broader view that includes multiple perspectives.
